Matchday Two continued on Wednesday, with teams from the World Cup’s Group A and Group B facing off. FIFA 18′s latest FUT World Cup ‘Man of the Match’ release features dynamic updates to Portugal CM João Moutinho, Spain LW Francisco Román Alarcón Suárez (better known as ‘Isco’), and Uruguay’s No. 9, Luis Suarez.
The midfield maestro Joao Moutinho put in a shift in the middle of the park, as Ronaldo’s close-range header eliminated Morocco. Moutinho registered an 84 percent passing accuracy, and recorded two key passes, including the cross that led to Ronaldo’s fourth goal in two games. The 1-0 result put the 2016 European champions on the cusp of a Round-of-16 berth. Moutinho finds his ratings upgraded from his previously 84 overall base rating to an 86.
Barcelona forward Luis Suarez, known for polarizing audiences in years past, thanks to his handball and shoulder-biting antics, notched his first goal of the tournament against Saudi Arabia. The set-piece goal came in the 23rd minute, sending La Celeste through to the knockouts, and the Saudis home. Suarez goes from a 91 overall to 92.
Spain’s all-class Isco recorded four shots, on top of an astounding 92 percent passing accuracy, and made the key pass to Diego Costa, who broke the 0-0 deadlock between Spain and Iran early in the second half. The Atlético man’s deflected strike was the difference, as the match was the last of three 1-0 results Wednesday. Though not broaching his daunting new TOTG1/now-upgraded-PTG’s ratings, Isco sees his rise from 86 in the World Cup sub-mode up one to 87 overall.
As per usual, the three player items are available in packs now, and if you already have them stored away in your World Cup club or duplicate pile, they will be dynamically updated.
